Bill Stroupe has been writing for years, performing from time to time and gaining a small audience. He has always called the style of music he plays "Bitching and Moaning in your Beer". Asked to fill in a bill at The World Famous Milestone Club in Charlotte, NC, He asked his son Ian Morgan Stroupe and Geoff White(both of Appalucia and several other bands around Charlotte) to join him on Stand Up Bass and Fiddle. Zac McBee heard about the show and showed up with bag of harps to join in. During the evening, Bill Stroupe was so taken by the playing of the guys, that he exclaimed that "This is One Fine Damn Band" and so the name of the act was born. Jonathan "Battleship" Hughes recorded the whole thing and the next two shows, the last of which saw the inclusion of Isaac Stroupe, up from Atlanta for a visit. These shows were so much fun they have been repeated regularly with whoever is available and Jon's recordings have been released as "Bitching and Moaning at the Milestone" by One Fine Damn Band and bill stroupe.
