Born in the back of a tattoo studio Vulture is the brain child of guitarist Joshua Taddeo and
drummer Joey Vernon. Both Taddeo and Vernon being veteran metal musicians the two started
their project with a serious resentment of most of the heavy music around today. With bassist Travis
Lakeman and vocalist Bart Lattimore Vulture is a no holds barred attack on the senses; it’s a complex
tapestry of heavy riffs, technical wizardry, and the raunchiest of rhythm sections that plays like a
thundering horde. Taking the influences of all four members, everything from Iron Maiden to Red Fang,
Vulture displays a distinctive old school power metal flare but with a much darker and sludgeier tone to
create their own brand of Heavy Metal. With songs like Titty Wizard and Path to Pleasure Town Vulture
has brought a little fun back into metal but with no cookie monster/ guttural vocals front man Lattimore
blazes through his lyrics about a world of wizards, dragons and sorcery with a melodic freshness, like
Dio with a distinct southern gentlemanly flare. The squealing guitars of Joshua Taddeo play on both
sides of the Heavy Metal coin. With a pure precise technic alongside of a heavy dose of gut wrenching
riffs he takes a one guitar approach and makes it sound like ten. But it’s the pillaging style of Lakeman
and Vernon’s rhythm section that drives the songs and truly make them Vulture, what truly makes them
“Viking Metal”, the thundering bass lines and furious kick drum could shake the very walls of Valhalla.
Vultures approach of pure musicianship with a true sense of whiskey drinking, bar fighting mentality
makes them unique, fun, and a little dangerous. But one thing is clear that Vulture is here to do three
things, drink all your beer, make out with your girlfriend, and blow your doors off!
