Tim Floyd Obert / Bio

As you might have noticed, a lot of these songs have the name Melody in them. That's because I used my 1965 Gibson Melodymaker to record these songs. Along with a 1971 Fender MusicMaster. I attached a Roland Guitar synth to the Fender. I used a Fender Precision Junior Bass. The drums were Roland V Drums With Real Hi Hat and cymbals. I've written about 30 songs {mostly clunkers} But there are a few on here that are my favorites. Used a Boss BR1600 dgital workstation. I had no clue what I was doing so that's why some of this stuff sounds unprofessional. I think I did the best I could with what knowledge I had and the equipment I had to work with. Been in kind of a writers slump lately with life changes and all. Anyway. Now on to my daughter Molly. She has an album herself that I guess I produced and recorded the instrumentation. Rock Me Baby is off her album. She was also in the 10 piece funk band {Soul Injection} that I put together. She sings Fantasy by Earth Wind And Fire off of a four song demo that the band recorded. Was a great band of musicians. Short lived however, as to few places to play for a 10 piece. Moving on to latest project.
I Moved to Fort Collins 7 years ago after a divorce. Molly was going to school here and the town seemed to still have a good music scene. Took me a while to get back on the horse as I had not picked up a pair of sticks in years. Took a year to get in to the click sort or speak. Started picking up fill gigs here and there and now playing as much as I want. Both guitar and drums. I love the blues. I know it's simple and sometimes boring, but it's real, You know, real. I just play guitar for enjoyment. I don't have plans for being an official guitar player. I know about 3 licks and that's good enough for me. I've been singing since I was a kid. I'll sing just about anything from gospel to Irish folk. Moving on to the present. I am now playing drums in a three piece power trio called FreeMason. Not sure why we named it that. 19 year old guitar player Ryan Kronich. Tucker Mclung on bass {his dad is Bobby Mack from Austin}. this band basically takes songs and variate from the theme. Well. I guess jam would be the appropriate wording. Anyway. went into a studio and knocked these songs out in one take each. Don't Drink The Water is Tuckers original with him on vocals.
Well enough said. Listen and I hope you enjoy what you here!
Sorry about the quality of the video. Had a friend with a camera and he got caught up in the crowd at the bowling alley. The old guy with the Flying V is me. The good looking young woman on keyboards is daughter Molly. The other old guy on bass is Cousin Mark. And the drummer is Molly's bo. The band Blues Rectifier.
