In Geneva Alabama we have levees to keep floodwaters out of the low lying areas. Only one road, the one that leads to higher elevations, is built on top of the levee. This stretch of Highway 27 South takes you right through our old neighborhood and we call it the “Levee Road”.
Founded in 2002, the band “Levee Road” originally consisted of two members, Tom Barney (rhythm guitar) and Todd Wheeler (vocals). Together they are credited with writing over fifty songs and producing the Levee Road “One Way” CD in 2012. A year after the completion of "One Way" Doug Medley (bass), a long time friend, suggested forming a band and Doug became the third member. Matt Donaldson (lead guitar) joined the band after responding to an ad posted on bandmix.com and really was a natural fit. Another year later and Jay (drums) joined and completed the group. And last but not least, Chuck Barney (sound mixing), helps equalize the sounds and levels to produce quality music. Together “Levee Road” has emerged as a true to life, homespun southern rock band.
