Pawn's Logic is a family band that originated in the Nielsen living room when my daughter Bethannie asked me to play "Time in a Bottle" on guitar so she could sing it for her husband, Chris on their wedding night. The song has two parts, so I drafted my son, Edward, to play the nylon string guitar part. Since our pilot performance, we have worked together on some recordings, most notably Bethannie's covers of "Hallelujah" and "Baby Mine." Edward continues to contribute as a trombonist.
Over the course of that year, I began building up a recording "studio," recording and writing songs part time. We recorded "Under the Mountain" and our cover of "Time in a Bottle" in the fall of 2011. "The Ballad of Boudreau" is about the guy who had too much to drink at Bethannie & Chris's wedding. We are hoping to draft Chris, as our bass player.
