Stephen Luster (born December 17, 1993), better known as Jerrod, is an American singer-songwriter, music producer and affiliate of Hood Symphony Productions. Jerrod is a multi-instrumentalist who taught himself how to play the drums, guitar and piano. He is the cousin of both Hood Symphony producer Hero and hip hop artist Jay Bo Fontana.
Jerrod was born in Durham, NC. At an early age he was immersed in music. His father was and is currently the lead soloist at the church of his upbringing. As a youth his father toured with the “The Luster Brothers”; a gospel group that rose to prominence in the early 70’s. His father helped to nurture his musical talents, spending countless hours with his son, singing and playing various instruments. At age 2 he first held a drumstick, and at age 5 he became the drummer for the churches youth choir. When the same vacancy arose in the adult choir, Yung Dapp filled in becoming his churches lead drummer.
During high school Jerrod excelled in multiple arenas. He lettered in Basketball his senior year while starting at the point guard position. In the schools theatre department he landed lead roles in both The King and I and The Wizard of Oz, where he played the role of the Scarecrow. After receiving high praise for his acting prowess, and after much persuasion from his classmates, Jerrod released a collection of video covers on YouTube. These covers were compiled into 2 self-produced mix tapes and released during his last semester of high school. He decided to pass a copy of his second mix tape entitled “Alpha” to his cousin Hero, a hip hop music producer and ask for his opinion. Hero saw great promise in the project and decided to induct Jerrod into Hood Symphony Productions. Jerrod is currently preparing various studio projects and working collectively with Hood Symphony and hip hop artist Jay Bo Fontana.
