I started playing and writing music in grade school. My first officially studied instrument was guitar, then I learned to play French Horn in the school band and orchestra. I played around with different instruments through high school taking lessons in piano, trumpet, and flute. I briefly majored in music at Hofstra University and then played keyboards in a number of bands throughout my twenties. Bands being difficult to keep together, I eventually moved on to writing and singing my own material sometimes with a full band and sometimes acoustically on guitar. I studied jazz finger style guitar under Howard Morgan and returned to college where I studied classical guitar under Jerry Willard, Michael Belajonas, and Dr. Rubio. My degree was in music business which led me to working under Grammy award winner Nile Rodgers. In an effort to learn some skills outside of music I studied towards an MFA in 3D animation at RIT which led to some work on short films and video games, but recently returned to making music.
