CHANT – the tribal-infused apocalyptic drum project created by Bradley Bills from Austin, TX – spent the last decade solidifying its mark in the Industrial Rock world with a constant US tour schedule supporting everyone from Pigface to Combichrist, Psychic TV to Orgy, and landing tours with My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult & Lords of Acid.
CHANT gained an international audience following 2013 dual US tours with KMFDM and a 2014 European tour with Die Krupps (for which Bradley also served as drummer for the headlining Krupps) and the momentum has led to a partnership with WTII Records for distribution (Nail – US / Planetworks – EU/UK) to release CHANT’s eagerly anticipated 3rd album, as well as an unprecedented, never before occurrence of being invited by KMFDM for a 3rd tour this summer on the 2015 KMFDM/CHANT Salvation Tour.
The new album, titled ‘Brave New Apocalypse’, set for release on July 18th, is described as having CHANT’s signature tribal driven sound, immersed within a modern take on classic industrial - full of punk rock DIY venom, grinding guitar blasts, haunting noise loops – with an added mixing assault from the Ultra Heavy Beat creator Sascha Konietzko (KMFDM).
Adding fuel to the fire, CHANT will make their UK debut at this summer’s Infest UK Festival alongside acts such as Project Pitchfork, Mind In A Box & Cocksure.
CHANT’s high energy, live show won critical acclaim with Industrial & Rock Publications as a show ‘simply not to be missed’ by ReGen Magazine and ‘2013 Live Show of the year’ by Coma Music Magazine. The unique tribal drumming echoes STOMP/Street Drum Corps and blends a NIN/Nitzer Ebb spirit if classic Industrial Rock. CHANT is regarded as highly original, both in and outside of the Industrial genre, completely honest and 100% passionate, leaving audiences elated after seeing them live.
Since inception, Bradley’s subversive DYI style of art and mixed media continues to provoke thought and turns heads: CHANT’s controversial music video NEED triggering censorship by Youtube.com and other media outlets in 2012 and the 2011 video ‘Revolt’ has become a fan anthem – commenting on the NWO and NSA overreach that this new generation now speaks out against. Fans enjoy a close relationship with the entire band and each show brings on a new member of CHANT’s Revolution Army.
CHANT enters this summer 2015 with a new album, a full US tour, UK festival shows – and a recharged, ramped up live show like never before! Brave New Apocalypse is not stating the end of the world is imminent by any means. For CHANT - it’s just beginning.
