Singer/Songwriter Brooklyn Heuer (pronounced Higher) was born and raised in Iowa! at the young age of 3, her dad Jamie got the news he had leukemia cancer. He underwent a bone marrow transplant and due to complications slipped into a coma. Brooklyn’s mom Tracy stayed by his side. Brooklyn’s grandma Judi stayed with Brooklyn and her older sister Tarah. It was at this time Brooklyn’s journey of singing started. To pass time Brooklyn and Tarah started singing and performing in the basement on a make shift stage for family and friends. Since then Brooklyn has not been able to stop singing.
Brooklyn started doing local and state pageant to be able to sing and perform in front of crowds. She won the Title Miss Muscatine Outstanding Teen 2011. At the same time she had also audition for the lead role “Sandy” in the musical grease, and got it! Brooklyn keeps busy with her vocal lesson, singing, performing, volleyball, and softball. She sings performs at county fairs, country clubs, restaurants and pretty much where ever she can.
Brooklyn is against bullying and has helped many kids that are being bullied. She becomes there friend and will help them get through this tough time in life. Brooklyn also talks to the person doing the bulling and tells them its wrong and if they could stop, it would make their life and others in a better place. Brooklyn has also collected, sorted, tied, put rubber bands, and shipped over 2000 pair of shoes for a non-profit organization Soles4Souls. Helping men, women, and children who have been hit by poverty or natural disaster, not only local but world wide.
Brooklyn found inspiration to write and sing about the things that has happen in her life. Hoping that her experience she has gone through will connect and have an emotional effect to her listeners. Brooklyn has wrote/co-wrote and recorded songs in Nashville TN, with some of the biggest songwriters in Nashville. The producers and song writers that worked with Brooklyn also has worked with stars like Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Katy Perry and many more. It was a great experience for Brooklyn. And she loved every minute of it. She can not wait to share her music with the world.
