Joe began playing banjo at the age of 4 with his father’s help and with influence from the Grand old Opry. Guitar became his primary instrument by age 7 and the six-string journey began, with a first professional position as the 15-year old guitarist with the 9-piece horn band, Metropolis. At 18, Joe was touring the east coast with the rock/comedy trio The Jimmy Carter Show. In 1982, Joe joined the RI-based group, Touch and a few years later formed his own band of funk, rock and boogie, F-Sharp. Joe’s credits include a tour with the iconic, Steve Miller Band. Joe returned to the east bay of RI in the late 90’s and continues to perform with the acoustic/vocal trio, Trinity.
