The current line up of The Red Light Commandos assembled October 2014.
Lead vocalist Sammy Pond is easily recognized by his dark, round, lower octave, bright timbre on his higher notes, and an occasional emotionally charged grittiness. He is also recognized for his open vowel sounds, mixture of vocal textures, vibrato and ability to sustain notes.
Lead Guitarist Bryse Cooper is a smooth lumberjack (talkin' bout them axe fingers, ladies n' gents). He has Paul Bunyan's beard and is better than machine. Clean/efficient technique, but more importantly has wisdom and patience when it comes to what makes a good song or a good guitar solo. His style can be understated; but don't let that fool you- this guy can shred harder than a... food processor... or Wolverine... on cocaine... yeah
Bassist Austin Rupp puts the dance and rhythm into the music. He brings the hammer-ons, pull-offs, and bass chords. His bass lines will get in your bones and make your knees rattle. Not only is he proficient at 6- string guitar, he delivers team swag with his gold chain necklace and levi jacket.
Drummer Bryan Rieben fortifies the jazzy element in The Red Light Commando's sound. He implements subtleties into his beats that only the trained listener can attend to and appreciate. From sizzling hot high-hat work to clever beats, he sure puts a velvet bow on the package and pulls everything together.
