That is what Between 11 is all about. Originally from Sainte-Therese, Qc, Canada, the progressive metal formation is almost celebrating it’s sixth anniversary. Having matured quite a lot through recent years, the members of the band try to stay open-minded to new ideas and innovative ways to incorporate everyone’s opinion to the creative process. Between 11's goal is to reignite the flame of prog rock as it was in the sixties, with a more modern approach, slightly more metal. Everyone in the band has inspirations coming from various sources, and even though they sometimes diverge from one another, in the end it creates our own distinctive sound. We have perfected our playing for the last 5 years to give you folks a unique experience, both live and while working in the studio.
We are currently working on our second LP. The album's concept has a solid base, so the composing part is quite easier to do for us, since we just have to build around it, and we already have shivers just thinking about what we’re creating and how it will come to life.
We have been through a lot with the band. Everything started in 2010. Former drummer Hugo Anthonis and former guitarist Abel Mhedhbi started a project called Solstice, together with Sebastien Desgagné (Keyboards), Christopher Casselman (Vocals) & Alexandre Paquette (Bass).
We made pretty much all of the demo's songs using that line-up. After the demo was done, we had a discussion which resulted in the loss of our Guitarist and Bassist. The recruiting process wasn't a problem at all, as we all knew so many musicians from college. So we just asked Marc-Antoine Dumont to audition and, god, it went so well that he decided to join the crew immediately. We did the same after a couple of months, this time Mathieu Larivière taking the place of Abel Mhedhbi.
You know… Sometimes you feel there is a missing piece somewhere, somehow. We had the epiphany (what a pun, son) to get a second guitarist to really complete the line-up and give our music a vaster, richer tone, which brings us to Philippe Bebnowski Roy.
Lately, our singer Christopher Casselman left the band. It was a tremendous opportunity for us, as a band, to work on our instrumental stuff for the second album. And now, as we’re in the middle of writing, a new challenger approaches. To be announced.
In 2012, we homebrewed a demo titled ''A Debate'' which was made and produced by us exclusively. By 2014, we released our first album, titled ''The Epiphany'', that album being produced by us and recorded in a studio in Montreal. We did a lot of big venues in Montreal such as the Plaza Theatre, the Olympia theater & the Club Soda.
