Makeda Dread Cheatom is the Executive Director of the Prophet WorldBeat Productions, a non-profit organization with a 23-year history of promoting world music. She has worked with legends like Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer, Gregory Issac, Skalikghts, Desem Deker, Justine Hines, Joseph Hill, Don Carlos, Mickey Dread, King Yellow, Vibration, plus the new Reggae generation like Midnite Alba Rosie, Genami, Revolution. As a Cultural Anthropology Major and Ethno-Musicologist, Makeda has traveled to Costa Rica, Panama, Peru, Brazil and numerous other countries researching and experiencing ethnic music throughout the world. As a well known radio personality on 91.1X in San Diego for over 25 years, she established San Diego's Tribute to the Legends Festival/ Bob Day now in Port Pavillion on Broadway Pier, previously known as Bob Marley Day, which draws over 12,000 people to San Diego each year. Makeda has produced artists from Africa, Latin America, Jamaica and the United States.
