Brett Skinner: Guitar – Vocals
Brett is a California native who trusts in melody, energy, and finds the electric guitar an unlimited vehicle for communication. After playing lead guitar for the Lynn Bobby Band, a San Francisco based country-rock outfit in the mid 90’s, Brett sat in with various country and rock bands in the Santa Cruz area. He helped form the San Jose rock outfit “Feedbach” , in the mid 2000s. Influences include Dickey Betts, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Free, and the Grateful Dead…anything uncanned and without preservatives. Lately he is especially enjoying the Meat Puppets’ Curt Kirkwood’s unique approach to the guitar and songwriting.
“…how many people are proud of how much fun they have? It’s a trip being able to play, I don’t want to glamorize it, but it’s the most *#*-ing amazing thing there is. “
Dee Aud: Bass – Vocals
Dee began playing wind instruments in school bands: sax, clarinet, baritone. Took up mandolin in 1991, but switched to bass guitar in 2008. Enjoys many styles of music including blues, funk, R&B, classic rock and metal. Past bands include: Coyote Blue with Lynn Bobby.
“What we need is a little music to cheer us up!” Shemp Howard
Jim Silva: drums-vocals
Jim grew up in Santa Cruz and started his musical journey with numerous instruments until finding his calling in percussion. He began playing drums in the Soquel High marching and concert bands as a teenager in the 60's. He went on to play in a variety of local garage bands throughout his early years. During his skiing career he switched over to guitar but came back to drumming about 10 years ago. He played with the local/south bay band New Speedway Boogie and got re-energized on the sounds of bands like the Dead, Skynyrd, Steve Miller, etc. Jim's love for the music and drumming found the perfect match when he joined Swytchback earlier this year.
