We are Dirty Feet; a low down, salt of the earth band that has a sound recipe for Blues/Funk/Progressive Rock that shakes Hendrix's Tree of Tone and uses RHCP's, Tool's and The Black Keys' approach to Painting a Song, (we have our own sound actually)! Ryan Skitteral's inspiring soulful singing, poetic lyrics and those phat bass lines with Wilf Dieter's creative blues/progressive rock guitar soundscapes with upper register backup vocals add the 'Dirt' complimented by the talented backup vocals, sturdy hands and "Feet" of Rick Mcbain on the skins!
Dirty Feet was originally called Sinners O' Saints from June, 2009 – January, 2012 with a different singer, but the same core group at the time. SOS was formed out of necessity after Wilf won a song writing contest and needed a singer in studio to record the winning song called 'Never Cheer Alone'. Out of it Sinners O Saints was formed out of haste. SOS recorded a handful of originals and one of them called 'Gone' was played on The Wolf 104.9 on a regular basis during their indie hour in the summer of 2010. SOS played a lot of venues across Southern Saskatchewan for a year and a half. When the band ended (due to differences in artistic direction) early in 2012, the remaining band members (minus the Sinners O' Saint's singer) wanted to keep going but they dropped almost all the old songs and started fresh with a new singer who fits like a glove with the direction of the ‘Dirty Feet’ sound.
In Febuary of 2013, both the founding drummer and bass player went their separate ways and Dirty Feet picked up from there with Rick McBain on the drums and vocals with their fearless lead singer Ryan decided to play the bass and do double duty. Dirty Feet is officially a 3 piece band!!! As of now, after a piling up of local gigs, interviewes on CTV and the Leader Post newspaper and Showcased on the 'Stripped Down' TV show on Shaw Cable, Dirty Feet will be in the studio sometime in the fall recording their first CD of original material, written by Wilf Dieter, Ryan Skitteral and Rick McBain.
In the near future Dirty Feet will be posting the songs on Reverbnation. For now there's mixture of live takes of their original songs and demo takes with some videos. Dirty Feet’s goal is to develop more originals than covers but they will keep the covers that suit their musical style. Dirty Feet have over 30 cover songs containing artists like Jimi Hendrix, RHCP, CCR, Sublime, Cream, Extreme, The Beatles, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Slash, The Black Keys and much more. Dirty Feet has enough to last all night long and keep you coming back for more.
