Michael Christopher is on the brink of becoming a household name in the country music industry. His invocative storytelling and increasingly sophisticated songwriting are most evident in his new music, set to impact country music in 2015.
For this, the latest installment in his musical catalogue, Christopher worked with some elite company. The music was recorded at the prominent Rukkus Room, and was mixed, mastered, and produced by some of the best Nashville has to offer. The result is a three-song collection of modern music that not only displays Michael’s flexibility and ingenuity as a songwriter, but also expands the boundaries of the country music genre.
Each new song represents a story, philosophy, and venture into a new realm of the country music genre. “DNA”, written by Michael along with Rand Bishop (known for his co-write of the #1 hit for Toby Keith - “My List”), is a powerful heartfelt song with a contemporary feel while exuding a strong, traditional message. “Carnival Ride” is a summertime anthem about growing up and new love, while “Hot Damn” is a country rocker with an edgy beat and an irresistible hook.
These songs follow 2012’s ‘You and the Open Road’, his debut full length album produced by renowned Nashville producer Kent Wells, as well as 2013’s ‘Keep It Country’, a four-song EP that stretches the boundaries of the genre with the toe-tapping melodies of “Buckle Up” and “My Kinda Summer,”, as well as the title track.
Born and raised in Western Pennsylvania, Christopher has been performing throughout the Northeast and beyond for years, playing guitar-heavy country rock at fairs, festivals, bars, and clubs, while also opening for countless national acts, including Jamey Johnson, Phil Vassar, Craig Campbell, and Eric Paslay.
In today’s ever-competitive music industry, Michael Christopher distinguishes himself as a true musician and entertainer, one that continues to hone his craft through songwriting and performing. With an impeccable talent for writing and performing the songs that people want to hear, coupled with the grit and determination necessary to succeed in the music industry, Michael is on the brink of a career-changing year in 2015.
