Nick Glass, a central Kentucky musician has been creating music since the young age of eight, when he received his first drum set. At the age of 13, he was given his first guitar and seemingly, hasn’t let go of it yet. He’s stated that after hearing Temple of the Dog for the first time in 1990 his life was changed and he was left with no doubt as to what he wished to spend his life doing. The Kentucky native spent the majority of his life growing up in Atlanta, Georgia. He may be a rocker to the core but you can definitely hear the south rising up through his melodic vocals.
He is the founding frontman of the original rock group, Vinal, which he formed after returning to Kentucky in 1999. While still manning the mic. and rhythm guitar for the group, he has now set out to pursue a new venture, as a solo artist. His first EP is currently in the works at Pandaruella Productions in Elizabethtown, Kentucky and all hope to see it released before the years end. Glass is looking to book an array of acoustic performances anywhere between Louisville and Nashville.
It’s obvious that an appreciation of music was instilled in this artist from a very young age. His influences range from performers and groups from the 1970’s thru to today’s most praised. He cites this eclectic mash up of influences as follows; Soundgarden, ZZ Top, Led Zepplin, John Fogerty, Ray Lamontagne, Seven Mary Three, Black Sabbath, Helmet, Stone Temple Pilots, Goose Creek Symphony, Nirvana, John Hiatt and Alice in Chains. This multitude of musical influences can be heard in his recordings and his live, acoustic performances. He has spent the length of his musical career focused solely on creating his own, original pieces of work, which he will continue to do on his EP. Being the original artist that Nick Glass is, expect to be pleasantly surprised at his renditions and his unmistaken ability to make any song sound as if it were written by his own hands.
