So far, I boast 19 years of life experience with the faithful companion of music. I've grown up in Denmark and the U.S. and therefore have quite the split personality nationality wise. I'm hoping to soon release a new album, but mostly I'm just aspiring to taste life and reflect upon it in songwriting while I enhance my foundation at Berklee College of Music in Boston where I currently reside.
Songwriting remains the most remarkable way to express my innermost emotions in a humble manner. Initially, the process of songwriting evokes personal regret and despair, but eventually I gain perspective and access to dimensions I previously had neglected. From infancy, music has transfigured my world, being the elixir for all hardships, but as time elapses I realize words have the equivalent effect; thus, a hybrid between the two have evolved within me as songwriting, becoming my means of establishing independence.
Throughout Middles School and High School I’ve sung and played in various forms of bands and choirs, and like most other vocalists I have had my run with musical theater and opera training. However, due to my instrumental interests as well as literary, I attained a particular fascination with songwriting. As a songwriter, I’m constantly conflicted with trying to find a balance between novelty and sincerity, but this mystery continues to be the reason that I stay invigorated and excited by my craft. As I’m preoccupied with the meaning behind songs and the lyrics, I need to make sure the music supports the overall message although the idea of just creating something fun and new is extremely attractive.
As long as I stay dedicated to my songwriting and musicianship, I will never cease to evolve. Personally, I consider this a guaranty as music always functions as my mediator. Empowerment lies in the fact that I am not only able to explore everything from the lovely to the deplorable, but enabled to illustrate it. Thus, I’m currently expanding my horizons by attending Berklee College of Music where I in April was selected amongst few other songwriters to perform in the spring semester's songwriter showcase with one of my originals. Also, I’m currently working on a new EP/ CD where I through very live and organic recordings am trying to capture this haunting, mysterious nostalgia that I joyously battle every time I sing and play. Music transcends the category of “study”, “hobby” or even “life style” and it will always incorporate immense obstacles, so I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life delving deeper and deeper into its countless, vivacious, expressive layers.
