The members of Salem Lake met at the North Carolina School of the Arts their junior year of high school in 2008. Studying their instruments at the time, they found creating their own music to be on the back burner. After graduation, each member ran into difficulties as they continued their college education. They ended up leaving school and were faced with a monumental decision; take the conventional path and go back to continue their education… or do what they live for and create innovative blends of rhythmic sounds and flowing lyrics. Drawing from major bands such as Radiohead, Incubus, and Mumford and Sons, this band's focus is to reach out through their music to connect with as many different people as possible.
