A true artist is also a storyteller. In her forthcoming EP, Kelly Machado delivers her story to the ears of the modern listener in own South Carolinian voice. With influences ranging from Regina Spektor and Fiest to the classical world of Bach and Debussy, Kelly creates a diverse sound that interweaves catchy melodies and heartfelt lyrics in what has been called “…a sonic breath of fresh air to the indie music scene.”
Kelly began her musical journey playing clarinet, saxophone, and flute at Charleston School of the Arts and continued on to study with Pascual Martinez Forteza from the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. She completed her classical studies at the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music with Susan Warner of the Lyric Opera Orchestra in 2010. After spending a semester studying art in Orvieto, Italy, she returned to the United States to study contemporary music in Nashville, Tennessee and begin work on her independently produced EP.
After releasing her first five original songs, Kelly plans to attend two more years of school to become a musical therapist. "Where is Ever After?" EP is merely the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Kelly Machado’s musical vision. Though it is never certain what the future may hold, Kelly will continue to work hard to share her story with the world.
