As of 2001, Apakalips has been deeply rooted in San Jose as a musician and organizer.
Along with co-founder/friend Mid*One, he created a local freestyle open mic/Hip Hop show, Lyrical Discipline. In 2011, LD reached 10 years of existence, in which also saw the end of an era, as they celebrated with the final show. In addition to the monthly open mic, Apakalips had been hard at work organizing local Hip Hop shows, Emcee battles, hosting BBoys jams along with working on his music.
A teacher since 2005- He has been teaching Social Science at San Jose's Gunderson High School, where he is also the advisor for the school's Hip Hop club, Strictly Outspoken. Over the last three years (since 2010), Strictly Outspoken has successfully organized a one-of-kind all age, Hip Hop festival known as Believe the Hype using the high school as the site of the event. This event has gained plenty of support over the first three years by local artists and college radio as it has boasted an attendance over 400 people, including artists such as Zion I, Locksmith, Rey Resurreccion, Dirt Bag Dan, and many others.
In 2013 Apakalips is releasing his next solo album produced entirely by San Jose production team XChange Leaders. The album has been over two years in the making and will see it's release in April. The first two singles from the album will be released in January and February with a music video release and additional video blogs before the album. This will also be one of the first two releases on the brand new independent music label, Unified Music.
Re-release of previous limited material is also in the plans with potential remixes of all material by the end of the year, also to be released on Unified Music.
