New Orleans, La, a city where music pulsates the fiber of its people, birthed a talented upcoming-and-coming Hip Hop artist and producer, Albert "Taz" Forest. Born on April 15, 1986, Taz began his journey in a climate where Hip Hop had become the voice of the streets. For Taz, however, music sought him at the age of 9 when his older cousin, Charles Aguillard, a talented New Orleans rapper, introduced him to creating music. This moment in his life defined his destiny; giving rise to his passion.
Taz released his first album, which was self-produced and written, at the age of 16 and has released two more albums since that time. He has worked with artists like The Faculty, China Redd, The Street Industry, Mugsy, and many more.
Drawing from influences such as 2Pac, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Souljah Slim, UGK, and musical blends of New Orleans music, Taz has developed a definitive sound that blends jazz, rhythm and blues, and rock 'n' roll. His educated, yet raw philosophical insights allow him to create powerful punch lines that make his music authentic. As owner of High Voltage Records, rap artist, and producer, Taz continues to innovate his style.
Today, Taz is working on the release of his new mixtape, Category 5, set to be released on October 31, 2011.
