It's all History...
I'm a member of ASCAP.
I've been a professional classical trombonist (also play bass and sing). Been invited to Carnegie Hall and the Vienna Music Festival. Studied with many of the greats including Lauren Marsteller (Pepperdine University), then Philip Jameson (University of Georgia) who prepared me for my acceptance into Interlochen Arts Academy where I studied under Jeannie Little, and did extensive master classes and clinics under John Marcellus (Eastman School of Music), Joseph Alessi (Juilliard), Frederick Fennel, Henry C. Smith, Steve Norrell (Metropolitan Opera Orchestra), Charlie Vernon (Chicago Symphony Orchestra), Yo Yo Ma, and Itzak Pearlman. Played under Frederick Fennel for several months. Played with the Athens Symphony Orchestra and several pit orchestras.
I then expanded my horizons (and genres) and went on to tour the US and Europe with several bands including Snap-Her (New Red Archives), Mobtown (Moon Ska), Regatta69 (Moon Ska, APB Records), Fluffer/the Holograms (Interscope/Def Jam), Slaying the Dandies (APB Records), and the Twilights (Hepcat Records).
I've been fortunate enough to share the stage with The Skatalites, Incubus, The Wailers, The Selecter, The Aggrolites, Dropkick Murphys, The Slackers, The Pietasters, The Specials, The Business, US Bombs, UK Subs, etc…
I've also gotten quite an education in the business vein by working for and/or founding several indie labels and a distributor who were persistent enough to get write-ups in American Songwriter, The Daily Bruin, Flipside Fanzine, and Skratch Magazine.
Oh, and co-wrote a song with Snap-Her that made it to #2 on the German Charts!
Have a certificate in Commercial Recording from Musician's Institute, and am working on a degree.
