The well diverse artist KYRK is one of the most respected up and coming artist that have been in relatively short supply of late in Contemporary/Reggae/Inspirational/EDM/Indie music. Now that sounds like a pretty tall order for a newcomer to fulfill but he’s an icon in the making. For singer/songwriter/producer KYRK—about to release his all new debut “Chatter Box”, his 3rd record in 2 years, and the one he describes as his most dynamic yet—the secret is simple. He remains true to who he is as a husband, a Father, a Man of God and as a Roll Model.
“My music is the real me,” says KYRK. “I’ll either live by that or I’ll die by that in this life, but I’ve got to be me and reveal the true Gift in me. “This isn’t a fad for me,” declares KYRK. “I’m willing to go wherever God leads me with this because music is medicine to me. This is my world and how I see it. My music speaks for me in a way that’s relatable and truthful.” “Every message in his songs is sincere and testimonial. KYRK’s voice is another obvious factor. Putting all of that together, he possesses a universal connection that touches everyone in any state of their lives.
Since releasing his previous single “Half Man, Half Amazing” in 2012, KYRK took a moment to step out of the spotlight, but not necessarily out of the studio. He formed the Roanoke, Virginia-based production company Phantom Enterprise, and began shaping the sound of Hip Hop artists H.E.C.T.I.C., POP artist Daniel and Christian artist M.L. Hardy. Though he has enjoyed crafting hits for these artists, KYRK is now ready to step into his calling yet again, and returns with much incredibly personal testimonies. “I put a lot of my personal live into my music because lives can be changed by it”.
The high-energy track lives up to its name with a modern, uplifting feel. Produced by J-Stylz for PowerPlug (MG) and written by Cannon Fame. As a child, he grew up listening to a wide array of influences thanks to his different placements in his life. KYRK was born in Manchester, Jamaica and have spent his childhood life in Kingston, Jamaica.
During his early teenage years his parents made a way for him and his siblings to come to the states (USA) where he began to sing in school choirs and local R&B groups. KYRK’ oh wow moment occurred when he was 15 years old and his older brother Ian heard him singing in his bedroom. His brother immediately got KYRK hooked up with producers Sly and Robbie, Singer/Song writers Lukie D. and Pinchers; they worked with KYRK to develop his Talent. From there KYRK performed in several states talent showcase and won.
In his early adult life KYRK began modeling and choreographing for local dance crews and fashion shows. He began singing in church after meeting Pastor/Singer/Song writer Reginald D. Thompson for United Global Church. From there he saw his purpose and calling to allow God to use him in such a way that souls are set free and delivered thru his music.
KYRK have since been on stage with artists such as Montel Jordon, K-Ci and JoJo, Destiny Child, Brown Stone, Christopher Williams, Born Jamericans, The Fugees, Billy Lawrence and much more.
It’s been an incredible journey since KYRK is an undiscovered artist with a destiny. Though he has enjoyed remarkable successes throughout his career, KYRK considers his new project when “it all came together” divine destiny. Now re-emerging with a new team and a renewed purpose in his music, KYRK is ready to give God the glory and mend brokenness between People and Music.
