Goldensole started off as an experiment to see how far they could take their dream, of recreating “Classic Rock”. Members then included; Dave Gillette guitar, Alex Gillette bass, Ben Richter drums, and Tim Richter guitar. They just couldn’t find that sound they wanted at the time, and began to part ways. A little under a year, Ben Richter and Dave Gillette decided, that wasn’t the fate of the band and restarted as Revolver. After time, and figuring out what their sound was, they picked up Mekonen Matefaria(Micki) for vocals, and Benjamin Stephens(Stoney) on bass. Things were starting to look up at this point, playing small venues like Tooy’s, and a Roller Derby warehouse. Dave and Ben weren’t quite as stoked on the sound as they wanted to be with the four-man band they had, so they decided a more full sound would be adequate; and that’s when they decided to bring Tim Richter back into the project as the rhythm guitarist. Things were starting to go smooth at this point. They started playing side gigs like Tavern 13, to test Tim out on the stage. They saw that it was a good fit and decided to take it to the next step, and enter The Battle of The Bands at Cervantes. Finishing the double header in 2nd place, they decided we needed an even better sound to get that 1st place. Back to writing they went. After months of trying to write and band tension rising, we decided to take a new approach and part ways with the lead singer Micki. Not taking any time for granted, they immediately started trying out singers. One after another, and plenty more waiting, they started our 4th tryout, Brandon Henson. A match made in Rock and Roll heaven. Brandon impressed them in many ways with his unique voice and especially the creative side he brought to the band with his harmonica. Songs started flowing through their veins, some new ones including, “Cajun Queen”, and “Solarized”. With all the new floating around and wanting to leave the past behind, they decided to walk forward, and the band would now be called Goldensole. With the new songs paving the way to the ultimate goal, to do this for the rest of their lives, they now venture to see the next awaiting opportunity.
