Rising out of Cleveland, OH, M.C. Trae has been writing rhymes, composing, producing and engineering since age 16.
He was the co-founder of the one-time group Circle of Masks in 2000, only to leave the group before pre-production of their debut album to enlist in the Marines in 2002. During his tenure, Trae never stopped writing and used his experience in the Marines to fuel his mental banks with ideas and a viciousness in his delivery that was not present before. Exposing himself to other M.C.'s from the across the country and some even the world, they opened his mind into more than one way of doing of Hip Hop.
Determined to further educate himself and be a force to reckon with amongst the Hip Hop community after the Marine Corps, Trae headed to Orlando, FL in 2007 to attend Full Sail University where he received 3 college degrees in fields that would benefit his own career. That's where he would meet Chris Parisi, who is the co-founder of Danq Entertainment and has worked in the industry for over a decade. Chris exposed Trae to the business and became Trae's mentor in regards to the business side of music.
In 2011, a woman and too many drugs caused Trae to have a mental breakdown. At the bottom of the barrel and a bottle, Trae realized he had to go back to his roots and returned to Cleveland. His return gave him a chip on his shoulder and he went right back to work, rediscovering himself and locating the signature style and delivery which the world hears now.
Since his return, Trae has been: networking and collaborating with local artists, recording 2 mixtapes, performing around venues in Cleveland with artists such as King Chip a.k.a Chip Tha Ripper and spreading the word about the Danq Lifestyle to the mid-west! Life Is Danq!
