Old-time string band music, perhaps the earliest form of American music, predates bluegrass and is, by way of immigration, the amalgamation of dance music from Ireland, Scotland, England and Africa. Brothers Evan, Mickey and Moses have grown up with this form music and have developed a deep appreciation for their Georgia roots. With syncopated fiddle, clawhammer banjo and rhythmically driven guitar, The Stone Mountain Wobblers energetically and authentically recreate this vintage country music of the deep south, seeking out source material from early twentieth century recording artists such as The Skillet Lickers, Earl Johnson and The Scottdale String Band. Being brothers, The Wobblers have a musical synergy that only family can bring and have proven it by ranking in the top three at the Gordon County Fiddler's Convention string band competition two years in a row and were recently featured on the acclaimed radio show "Backroads and Banjos".
