JonnyB / Bio

I was born in Chico CA in 1994 and moved to Humboldt County in 2000 when i turned six. Humboldt County and more specifically Eureka is where i really found my roots. It started when i was about 13 and my older friends got into the anarchist movement and show scene. Being that i was an angry kid (for mostly stupid reasons) punk and grindcore music and moshpits felt like a good way to lash out. I also wrote poetry to help get my emotions out but i was very reclusive with my writings. At age 16 me and 3 good friends formed a grindcore band and went on to play for two years locally and made a decent impact on the humboldt punk scene. I was the bassist for the band but i still wrote only now i was more open with my writing and even liked to flow to beats. Infact, to open one of our shows another member from my band played a beat and i recited a rhyme about revolution and killing cops and ending oppression, this is what my early writing consisted of. After the two years with existential crisis i somehow found myself having an existential crisis with the anarcho punk scene. it felt like it was going nowhere and progression was hard to come by it seemed. So i left the band, my girlfriend at the time left me, an i moved in with my sister because i had to get a job and she was generous enough to find me one and house me while i saved money (Seriously, Thank you sis). so staying at her house on the beach and working in a farm town all i did was work and write, work and write work and write. The things i went through although they wernt the worst, loss, gain, hurt, relationships, family, life, it pushed me to write, it was my only therapy. Stress relief. Since then its all i've done and will continue to do it. Much love to Thic Man and the family at Deathstar that have shown me so much love in my short time being signed, and watch for new tracks from the crew!!!!!! So thank you for listening and even though sometimes my page may be stagnant, know im always writing and always trying to meet new people to create sound. so stay tuned and ill keep you posted. :)
