Born in 1965. Self taught musician/guitarist. Music is in my blood, my great uncle was a Pipe Sergeant in the Seaforth Highlanders. He was critically wounded in Mesopotamia during WW1 and "Fallen Heroes" though not about him specifically, is definitely dedicated to him.
The earliest recollection I have of being moved by a piece of music was Ennio Morricone's epic sound track on "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Then I got into my mother's Beatles records.
As a teenager I discovered Led Zeppelin taking me on a voyage of discovery that opened a whole new world of music.
Frank Zappa has become my favourite artist as I've matured and I appreciate the complexity of his work more and more. As a guitarist he's unequalled.
Other guitarists that left a lasting impression on me: Page, Blackmore, Santana, Garcia and Gilmore to name a few. For a long time I felt inferior as a player until I realised I could only be myself.
So, I really make music for my own gratification, I get a buzz out of the creative process. I have now decided to publish my best work as a form of self realisation. Time will tell whether or not it will appeal to other's outside my own circle.
