In October of 2009, Enemy at the Gate formed as a 3 piece band, comprised of Jake Martin, Ben Nixon, and Elliott Shoap. After playing several shows in the Greater-Annapolis area, the trio brought in bassist/singer Jesse Heimbach in 2011. Jake Martin left in March of 2013 as the band continued work on their 4-track demo, called "Composure." Currently the band comprises of Jesse, Ben, and Elliott. As of 2014, the trio is working on a full length, self-titled album. After headlining Ram's Head Live twice, performing at the Recher Theater, Sonar, DC9, playing an opening act for Hurt, Smile Empty Soul, Children 18:3, as well as Life On Repeat, the band is fully prepared to begin playing larger venues with larger crowds. The dynamic trio combines a fast, 90's punk sound with a groovy and funk-flavored finish to create a truly unique blend of funk, hard rock, and punk. Enemy at the Gate's only thought is to entertain you.
