Singing her whole life, (avoiding piano lessons for most of it) and being a writer of poetry and short stories, Rachel finally fused her passion for writing and music and wrote her first five songs in late 2011 after graduating college, some world travels, and, inevitably, falling in love with piano. Her EP, Language of Flowers, was released a few months later in March 2012. Moving forward as a singer/songwriter-pianist, she wrote her album, Even if We Had a Telescope, which was released one year later in March of 2013. Rachel’s newest album, Solstice, will be released in spring 2014.
Her music, though said to be a difficult style to pinpoint, has been described as beautiful, soothing, and wholly unique. For ease of definition, it could be called “indie” with a flavoring of jazz, folk, and soul. Rachel’s love of music, the arts, literature, words, people, honesty, and creativity influence her lyrics, music, and vocals.
