Formerly known as Backseat Bitch
The Din currently are a duo consisting of Matty Pritchard as the lyricist/singer and Isam Rum as the guitarist/bassist and producer
In the summer of 2012, New York City’s The Din played several shows enlisting their friends who share a passion for music as rich as their backgrounds are diverse. Detroit-born drummer, Lisa Wilson (Poporoxi, Hate in the Box, Lunic), founded the group with long-time friends Matthew Pritchard and Isam Rum (Pale Male), a multi-talented song-writing duo and monster vocalist and guitarist respectively. The three together, veterans of the NYC rock/indie music scene, soon enlisted prog/metal song-writer and guitarist Jonathan Clark (HUNG) and multi-instrumentalist Joey Santiago (The Anthony Bruno Band) on bass to round out the line-up.
Although they are a new project, the collective talent and experience within Back-Seat Bitch was evident from their debut performance, which picked up critical acclaim right from the get-go from David Holland of Surge FM: “…The crowd was highly appreciative of their entire set as they were treated to quality from start to finish. Sadly that is a rare thing in music as it seems to be more about glitz & glam versus well crafted songs & actual musical talent. If you long for such music, Backseat Bitch will not disappoint!”
