The Gratitude Steel Band

The band has performed in Nassau, Trinidad, and Canada. The band resides in the U.S. performing from the East to West Coast including FL, Ky, Mi, Ms In, IL, Oh, Pa, Ny and Wi.
The family band sings and performs originals as found on itunes and also does covers.

In addition to it's reggae repertoire, sings and perform Motown, 70''s80's90's and top 40. The band is usually kept over because of people having a great time.
No matter what the style or event, the bands wide range of music is like a great master chef that changes his/her culinery arts for the themed celebration. It rose from cocktail hours to full ceremonies and receptions covering every detail!

Fairs Concerts, Festivals, Marathons and Parades give the band opportunity to display plenty of energy and style variation.
Banquets, Hair Conventions and Fashion Shows allow them to show many genres from World Music, Reggae, Hawaiian, Jazz and much More! They have written and arranged music for other steel bands, taught steel bands from ages 6 to 96 from high schools to senior centers.

The band performs presently in Universities and corporate events. One of it's main goals is to have a stong record deal that
will allow them the office team and sponsors to handle each of the
areas of marketing, receivables, and road management.

The band composes music with tablas, steel drums, voices, African instruments and Afro Cuban instruments creating contrasting songs Ie: Pans to The East and Final Razor.

These blends are from Gospel, Motown, Afro Cuban and Middle Eastern influences.

Chaz born in Detroit, Mi. adds his jazz, African, Motown, Pop and Caribbean flavors creating merges of fun for familair tunes and pioneer steps into the future with original materials.

NOTE: On wedding ceremonies the lead panist often combines with, violin, bag pipes, guitar and/or flute,
The band reads and is adaptable to church or out door patio or lawn settings.
Loretta Russell brings the Family Gospel warmth mixed her smooth jazz stylings to bring brilliance in vocal color and added style. Janiela brings a young adult r & b mix while playing bass. Dajhumbay sings the pop while playing lead. Chaz sings, the reggae and calypso while either playing pan or drums. Guy sings the Motown while play guitar. Everyone is active in keeping the crowd fun and moving on the dance floor.
Live band is uniformed plays, sings and captivates live audience participation doing songs by Michael Montano, David Rudder, Maxi Priest, Shaba, Sparrow, Kitchner, Calypso Rose, Bob and son Ziggy Marley, Jimmy Cliff, Alicia Keys, and Jimmy Buffett and more!
In addition to Reggae, Soca, etc, we perform music by Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Macy Grey, Mile Sirus, One Republic, Alicia Keys, and Jimmy Buffett and more! Variety, Notoriety, Class, and the entire band sings!

Our Hawaiian, Caribbean, African, and Jazz Shows have optional dancers as part of the shows.
Chaz has taught over 40 musicians to perform steel pans of which 8 of them perform
with him on a regular basis.

Eguana En Ekele is our Nigerian African name. It was given to us by Nigerian Professor
of Education Dr. Omatsu. In addition the band has been taught culture and music by Mfon
Umana and Kefentse' Cheke'
Our African music features singing and performing on djembe's bala phone, shekere, congas, steel pans, guitar, drums and keyboard, to tunes by Sunny Ade, Miriam Makeba, Zap Mama, Bob O Mal Hugh Masekela, Fela Kuti, Originals and optional Dancers. This group is great for African Bar mitzvahs, Festivals, Weddings etc.
