She has released five solo albums and is currently fronting 2 projects: the acoustic duo Diamondwolf (http://www.reverbnation.com/diamondwolf, http://songwritingcontest.songoftheyear.com/diamondwolf.htm) and the indie-rock band The Volcano Diary (http://www.reverbnation.com/thevolcanodiary, produced by Steve Fisk). She has appeared as a session vocalist on over 50 recordings, both artistic and commercial. Her original songs have been used in indie film and TV soundtracks since the mid-oughts. Alicia’s acclaimed solo release is The Secret Dream of Tigers on Chroma Records. She has toured nationally and appeared at the Knitting Factory in New York, the Limelight in Nashville, and at Genghis Cohen in LA.
Alicia is a life-long pro-choice activist and is a member of the Board of Advocates of Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest. Her activism has been featured in local and national publications including the December 2011 issue of Self magazine. In 2011 she was project director of "Sex Positive: A Benefit Compilation for Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest", which features 18 Northwest bands and artists, most of whom wrote brand-new songs for the project. 100% of the proceeds go the cause. Alicia Dara was born in Vancouver, BC to Grammy winning symphony musicians. She trained at an early age as a vocalist. Alicia's previous solo release is "The Secret Dream of Tigers" on Chroma Records.
