JF Soul used music to escape the mundane and worldly as a child; what he now refers to as soul travel. JF Soul recalls, "The question wasn’t whether I wanted to play an instrument or not, but rather which one?" Junior drum set by age nine, strumming chords on an acoustic guitar and spinning vinyl for school events was a weekly gig by age fourteen. After graduating from high school, he went to college to study music for three years and by the end of that, JF Soul was ready to perform professionally.
Stevie Wonder, Bob Marley, Led Zepplin, The Police and U2 posters can all be found rolled up in boxes in JF Soul’s garage. Their styles of writing have been fused together on Electricity, his 5th self-produced solo album. "The album and it’s sound are completely reflective of the resources available to me at the time of recording", says JF Soul. "Some producers like to polish the music and sound until it’s almost too perfect. It becomes almost lifeless."
JF Soul’s organic, unpolished style of rock/ electro funk and r&b has proven to be full of life. He conquered the Montreal circuit while promoting his second and third studio albums. Performances on TV shows such as “Montreal AM Live”, “Sophie's Choice” and “Pink Cadillac” with Celine Dion's drummer, Dominique Messier and many others helped JF Soul build an international fan base. Currently promoting his new album Electricity, JF Soul is performing live at various shows and festivals in South Florida. “Electricity’s” immediate positive response has got JF Soul electrifying a broad range of listeners with his wide spectrum of musical style and sound.
After a brief interlude since his last album "Electricity", Jf Soul is back with his latest release "Love Me (Summit Remix)" soon to be followed by new music that's in the making now!
