Acoustic-based singer/songwriter Sky Choice was born in Colorado in 1993 and raised by his mother, his grandparents, and a growing village that have never stopped supporting him. Sky’s introduction to music began by singing along with the local country radio station on car trips. His enjoyment of music continued to grow throughout elementary school, where he participated in the 5th grade choir. Sky followed theatre and choir throughout middle school. During 2008 he took an introduction guitar class. That summer, family friend Chris Stock taught Sky more chords and standard guitar care. In 2009, Sky wrote his first song. He continued choir and theatre into high school, performing in Almost, Maine, Cyrano de Bergerac, and Brigadoon. Through high school choir tours, Sky has sung in Latvia, Estonia, Finland and California, where the choir recorded in Warner Brothers Studios.
Sky continues his schooling at Adams State University where he studies music business, vocal performance, philosophy, and recently finished his first full length album, Young. At Adams, Sky participates in the Concert, Chamber, and Vocal Jazz ensembles. He is also a member of The Reverend & The Blues Pushers, playing bass guitar. Sky’s sound and lyric styles are heavily influenced by Passenger and Bon Iver with additional lyrical influences by Bob Dylan and Macklemore. He has performed all over Colorado, including Paris On The Platte (Denver), The Laughing Goat (Boulder), and Jive’s Coffee Lounge (Colorado Springs). Sky is always looking for gigs, open mics, jams, and more like-minded individuals to join him.
