Suzanne Doucet is an award winning composer, producer, recording artist and former pop star from Europe. Suzanne became one of the pioneers in the new age music industry in West Germany and is now recognized as one of the foremost authorities on the subject worldwide.
As the daughter of parapsychologist and author Dr. Friedrich Doucet and the actress Helen von Muenchhofen, Suzanne started her career in 1964 in Germany with a prime time Saturday night Television show "Familienparty" and subsequent recording contract. Having topped the charts with several hit records, Suzanne started producing and writing her own songs. She became a music publisher in 1966 and a Liberty recording artist in 1968. She also hosted the two most popular TV - music shows in Germany and Switzerland as well as appearing in numerous musicals and TV plays as an actress. She played with Donna Summer in "Godspell" in 1972 and with many stars such as Thomas Fritsch, Hans Clarin and Rainer Werner Fassbinder over the years.
Working with her father on the scientific and metaphysical aspects of music turned her interest beginning in 1969 to what we call now New Age Music. She studied Pythagorean Harmonics, Astrology, and other aspects of Western and Eastern spiritual traditions which influenced her music, but also her work as a producer and publisher over the next ten years. She started writing songs with spiritual content and released two albums in the 1970's, "In Essig & Oel" and "Reisefieber" Suzanne started her own record label ISIS MUSIC in 1979 with "Reisefieber" and released her first instrumental albums in 1982. ISIS MUSIC became later BEYOND and ONLY NEW AGE MUSIC. Suzanne released over 60 albums and 35 singles in her 50 year career.
Suzanne moved to the USA in 1983 with her daughter Natascha from her first husband the actor Raphael Wilczek. She re-married the cinematographer James Bell in 1984. They had a son Shaman in 1986. Suzanne lives now in Ojai, CA with her children and grandchildren. Her husband James passed in May 2013.
