LESO Songs Publishing - ASCAP
Chicago native LESA SPENCER discovered her love of music at an early age. Her 3rd grade teacher realizing her natural ability, gave her the first push by enrolling her in the grammer shcools' band, where she learned to read music and play the clarinet. Embarking on a career in music was second nature as the offspring of a local record store owner. Lesa got her start recording back in '95 as a studio session singer, then taken under the wing of Musician & studio owner Jerry Soto who produced the CLASSIC House track "Waiting On My Angel" by Jamie Principle / Frankie Knuckles, and who recorded her indie release "I Feel The Heat" which garnered some acclaim in the US & the UK. She soon gained notoriety on the HOUSE MUSIC scene performing her male bashing anthem "Ding-A-Ling", opening for national acts, Lidell Townsell (Nu Nu) and the Outhere Brothers (Boom Boom Boom). As a writer, she penned choruses on tracks "South Deering" and "Move Your Body" for Reprise / Warner Bros. Records recording artist Mr. Spike's "Beer Can Alley" CD and tracks for Chicago rapper Rula Rayfield. She co-wrote the songs "Thinking of You" & "Dream of U" by Chicago singer KC, which were the #1 R&B downloads on MP3.com.
