JULIE LEE BIO:
Though A Maryland native, Lee has lived in Nashville Tn for many years. Over the years Lee traveled and performed in the US and UK as a singer songwriter and has had songs cut by Country, Bluegrass, Folk, and Christian artists ... most notably and recently by Alison Krauss.(Jacob's Dream & Away Down The River - both on the collection A Hundred Miles Or More) 2007.
Lee's Songwriting is like a scrapbook of various traditional american styles...Folk, Jazz, Blues, Bluegrass, and Country. Like all of us, she has had a lifetime of musical influences. taking bits and pieces from each to make something of her own....that is both old and new.
In 2003 Julie went out on tour with & opened for Alison Krauss and Union Station , performed with her own band at the 2007 Newport Folk Festival , in 2009 she traveled back to the UK to perform at Greenbelt Festival has opened and sung back up for Over The Rhine in 2008 -2010 , and ,in 2009 and 2012 she performed at The Festival of Faith and Music In Grand Rapids, MI.
Julie has also played Mountain Stage in VA as well as Woodsongs (Old Time Radio Hour) in KY. Tokens -Live Radio Show @ Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN, WDVX Blueplate Special multiple times , was asked to be a part of Tennessee Shines at the Knoxville's historic Bijou Theater in 2008 , and performed at Nashville's own Music City Roots multiple times...both as herself and singing back up for fellow Nashville songstresses Sarah Siskind while on tour with Bonnie Rait.
Currently Julie is touring around her upcoming November 2013 release: Till & Mule . Till & Mule is quieter landscape than Julie's 2012 release Julie Lee & The Baby-Daddies . On this 2013 independent release Julie is joined by Artist/ composer/ co-producer Aaron Roche again (Will There Really Be A Morning)...and artist/composer Nathan Phillips, artist and deft drummer Dan Burns, and the atmospheric lap/ pedal steel of Jason Goforth.
