"Soon," 2002 Nashville Songwriting Association International award winner is a sweet gem of a song. Celio Brandt's jazzy alto sax adds an adult sophistication throughout. Again on "Sakura" (Cherry Blossom), the harmony of alto and tenor horns suggest blooming musical possibilities to come. Songs like "Lifetime to go" and "Soon" exhibit ballad potential and promise that even Whitney Houston might notice. Maybe 1970's Jim Croce should meet 2001's John Mayer (another Berklee alumni). What a world it would be! Just listen to Michael Graetzer's "Lifetime to go." Good song.
