Wind In Sails is the solo project of Evan Pharmakis, a Newport, RI-based singer-songwriter.
Pharmakis will release his sophomore full-length album, Morning Light, on February 24 via Headphone Music - an Equal Vision Records imprint. Morning Light was recorded at Apparition Sound Studios in Thompson, CT with producer Chris Curran.
The 11-track album will serve as a follow-up to Brighter Days, a short full-length comprised of eight songs and released in October 2012, and the more recently released Darker Nights EP - a raw, stripped down album that touches on the loss of loved ones and betrayal of friendship, while still holding an underlying optimistic message. He explains, "No matter how horrible things can get, with a positive mentality there's nothing we can't push through and things will always get better with time to heal.
For Pharmakis, Wind In Sails has always been a means of putting a positive message out there with hopes that people would find comfort in it - and that proves to be true on his forthcoming album as well.
“Morning light, is a perfect balance between stripped down, intimate songs, and more deeply produced, full-bodied tracks,” reveals Pharmakis. “Morning Lightrepresents both the beginning of a new day, and the first step on the road ahead for Wind In Sails. Almost everything I write about is from first hand experience, so I hope that people will hear/feel the honesty and sincerity in my songs, be it live or on record,” shares Pharmakis. “It's important to me to push a relatable message.”
Wind In Sails has toured and shared stages with the likes of PVRIS, A Loss For Words, A Rocket to the Moon, mewithoutYou, Our Last Night, the Vans Warped Tour and more.
New music from Wind In Sails’ Morning Light will debut in January 2015, and both Brighter Days, and Darker Nights are available to stream or purchase at windinsails.bandcamp.com
