Jordan and The Hashmites formed in the summer of '09 after Mike (the drummer) and the original bassist agreed to play the original music that Jordan had been compiling for the last few years. After practicing and playing impromptu shows and gearing up for anything bigger than an open mic night, the original bassist walked out a month before the big Halloween show that was already scheduled. However, in the five months after that, Jordan and The Hashmites acquired a new bassist, new equipment, new merchandise, new venues, new videos, new fans, and a new lust for success that drove them out of the dark, damp basement they originally practiced in, and into the spotlight. Playing songs that were too hard for the soft crowd, yet too soft for the hard crowd helped them realize they needed an answer when passersby happened to ask "What kind of music do you play?" Decidedly coining the phrase "Zombie Blues" as a description of angry, sad songs that seem to never die in our minds or on the stage, because every song needs an epic ending. Now, the band has hours of material, both original and timeless classic covers to cater to either the harder crowd or the softer. Hoping that their versatility will carry them to more stages and a wider demographic of fans. Just ask them, they'll tell you "The limelight comes from the exit sign."
