Smart, sexy, sassy Gia Mora is an accomplished actor, a vocal dynamo with a four-octave range, and a writer with an astute sense of humor. She brings her unique blend of beauty and brains to her work on film and on stage, and now as the newest artist signed to Modern Songbook Records.
Known for both her original storytelling and compositions as well as her interpretation of standards, Miz Mora’s critically acclaimed solo show, "Einstein’s Girl," has played to sold out houses on both coasts and continues to tour the country. Modern Songbook released an album of the same name in 2013. A third generation jazz musician, Miz Mora also frequently appears with her father, guitarist Rick Chinisci.
Miz Mora has received four Helen Hayes nominations and has appeared at theatres including Arena Stage, Woolly Mammoth, the Kennedy Center, Ford’s Theatre, and Shakespeare Theatre Company.
She stars as Nina the Shrink in the web series Shrinkage and can be seen in several national television commercials and independent films.
Miz Mora graduated summa cum laude and with honors in Screenwriting/ Playwriting from the University of Colorado, and she received a diploma in Italian Language and Culture from the University of Pisa. When she’s not working, Miz Mora is a “wannabe theoretical physicist” and serves on the board of the SoCal Science Cafe as a science education advocate and ambassador. She also loves playing crosswords, blogging about politics, and snuggling her two adopted kitties, Spanky and Haas.
