Born in Alabama and bred in Pensacola, FL, YaNeyBoHUD Beatman began writing songs for R&B singer Santresa. After hearing his lyrics come to life, Santresa needed more songs for her to record, but also had no music to record to. A Yamaha sequence remixer was purchased and Beatman decided to try his hand in it. His ability to make beats continued to drive his passion for music. He started out selling beats to local artist in the Pensacola area. A few years later he moved to St. Louis and was introduced to a rapper from New Orleans. They started collaborating together and eventually Beatman decided to take the next step and become an artist.
The biggest driving factor for Beatman to get into the industry is his passion for music and appreciating music for what it really is. His one major issue with today’s music, rap in particular, is that artists aren’t making music for the love of it. He feels that most of the artists are doing it strictly for the money and that’s why there are so many one hit wonders. He feels that they are poisoning the industry to make a quick payday while not even thinking about the consequences of what they are doing to the industry. Listening to his lyrics, you will notice that he has a deep disgust for those artists who he feels are “Ruining” the business. Beatman’s influences from artist include 2pac, Ice Cube, Run-DMC, Camoflauge, B.G., Juvenile, Lil’ Wayne, Dirty, Dr. Dre, Eminem, 50 Cent, Jay-Z, and Kanye West just to name a few.
