Sivan (12 years old) is a MikeSoperMusic artist. Powerful, soulful vocals and inspirational song-writing characterize her music. Her diverse genres cover pop, classical, R&B, Broadway, jazz, opera and even rock and alternative. Versatility and diversity describe this triple-threat+ artist. Her influences are primarily the legendary Barbra Streisand, the late Donna Summer, Sarah Brightman, Christina Aguilera, and Florence Welch. While diversity is her signature, Broadway is her passion. She is currently working on her third original, Stay Strong, a song that she wrote to help raise awareness for the many who suffer from multiple sclerosis. She is collaborating with Jace Vek, two-time Emmy award winning composer and Mike Soper. Planned release of Stay Strong is in 2014. On December 22, 2012, Sivan released her fourth original, "We're Not Done Yet," co-written and produced with Matt Sanchez, Deanna Pavese, Caro Fernandez and Amanda Lopez, the five winners of seasons one through five of Voice of an Angel, national vocal competition. In April of 2012, Sivan wrote her first song, “Just Be You.” The song and music video were released at the end of June. This soulful ballad with a surprising dance twist, reminds us all that we have to reach inside, grab the magic within and always be true to ourselves. Sivan intends to continue her song-writing, hoping to release her first album in 2014.
Sivan also recently appeared at Carnegie Hall, where she sang, "Somewhere," accompanied by Michael Soper. She was a featured solo performer as a first place winner of American Protege International Vocal Competition in her age group and category.
Sivan not only possesses a powerful and soulful voice, and heartfelt and meaningful song-writing capabilities, but has also performed extensively on stage in many musical theater productions, several in lead roles: as Jasmine in Aladdin, Jr., Willy Wonka, in Willy Wonka, Jr., and as Kelli in Edwina, both Rising Starz productions; in Annie (Molly), the Wiz (Glinda), in Cats (Mr. Mistoffelees), and in Once On This Island (Ti Moune), for the Performance Project School of the Arts and the Broward Center for the Performing Arts). Also a dancer, Sivan has performed solos, duets and group productions in both jazz, lyrical and ballet shows, recently appearing in lyrical and jazz numbers with Stella’s Dancer’s Studio. Although the winner of many local live and internet-based talent and voice competitions, in December 2011, Sivan won Season 5 (2011) of Voice of an Angel, a national singing competition. Competing live over three days, she was the youngest competitor ever to win the contest, besting four other finalists, ranging in age from 14 to 31. She also had the opportunity to express both sides of herself as a pop and Broadway artist at the "Eight Over Eighty Turn Back Time Awards" celebration in late 2011, at Forest Trace, (Sunrise, Florida), celebrating National Grandparents Day, where she serenaded legendary South Florida octogenarians Judy Drucker (founding artistic director of the Concert Association of Florida) and Grammy-award winning writer/pianist, Peter Fuchs (conductor of the Hallandale and Coral Springs Symphonic Pops Orchestras). She was accompanied by Peter Fuchs on piano during her performance of Memory from Cats.
An active philanthropist, Sivan also donates her time and talent performing for local charities, such as CUPTS and the South Florida Dream Team of Tunes for Tots, making wishes come true for terminally ill children through Make A Wish Foundation. She attends a private, college preparatory school, where she is a member of the Sunsations, the show choir. Her earnest desire is to attend NYC Tisch School of Arts. Despite long hours training or performing, Sivan always has time for her diverse group of friends, her Shit-zu, Sophie, and her daily journal. Although small in stature, Sivan belts out passion with a powerful, soulful voice that is complimented by her dancing and stage presence. Through her performances, she reminds us to “Just Be You” and to "Stay Strong."
