Vocaliz is an artist, a poet, a musician, and an international soul traveler who uses hip hop to speak truth to power, to seek the positive, and to expose the negative. His rhymes have moved crowds on the beaches of the Mediterranean and in basement joints on both sides of the Atlantic.
"The voice is the first instrument. That's the main weapon." says Vocaliz. Don't box him in: he can move from intense rap to smooth reggae soul and back again, and take a swooning audience with him.
Born and raised in Cameroon (Central Africa), Vocaliz began performing on the Mediterranean resort island of Cyprus, working his way from underground clubs to beach festivals. 2009 saw Vocaliz his first release, the collaborative album "The Painful Healing" with Ghanaian producer and singer Afana, which Cyprus radio devoured. A showcase for Vocaliz's lyrics, he maneuvers deftly from hands-in-the-air party anthems to poetic words of spiritual support for those who can't smile so easily - sometimes all in one song.Like the poet Rumi, Vocaliz finds inspiration in the world around him: the people, the drama, the joy, the sadness. He looks to the soul and r 'n' b of the 90s too, including such masters as D'Angelo, Q-Tip or The Roots.
Now based in Brooklyn New York, Vocaliz is delighted to present the first single “Celebration “of his upcoming EP titled “A Man amongst Robots “to prove that he deserves more than just our attention.
