Mike Bargeron, Patrick Ruiz began forming Urban Classics in 2002, under the name “Floaters”. After landing drummer Jordan Collins in 2005, and bassist Stuart Ranier in 2008, they began to successfully reach a very broad audience with their uniquely blended style, featuring the Hip-Hop flavor of Andrew Alvarado. Understanding the responsibilities that lay before them, they wielded their Of-Age I.D.s and embarked on a journey to familiarize the Bars and Clubs throughout Los Angeles with their soulful tunes, and their intentions of breathing life back into the music industry. Releasing their first record Greatest Hits, Vol. 1 in January 2012, Urban Classics is on the grind, playing venues such as the House of Blues in Hollywood and Anaheim, and Saint Rocke in Hermosa Beach, with acts such as Pato Banton, and Tomorrow’s Bad Seeds. This band of “brothers,” who pride themselves on their family like relations, steadily grew into the group that most know as the Urban Classics today. Loved by teenie-boppers and cougars alike, Urban Classics is in high demand, spreading good vibes and good music to the people.
