Hey: ) I'm know that I'm supposed to talk in 3rd person like someone is else talking about me but I won't.lol I'm JusJosh, a queer-hop artist originally from the Chi, recently relocated to Cali. I'm a singer, songwriter, emcee, poet, and activist/organizer and I'm fighting to help push the voices of LGBT artists and LGBT struggles, stories, and everyday lives to the mainstream audience by the folks who are a part of our community. Too often the images that represent minorities/act risk communities, often in a degrading manner, aren't even placed there by people of those communities. If you like and believe in my music/movement please support, spread the word, and support other LGBTA artists as well please. Thanks: )
Definition of Queer-Hop for those who want to know what Queer-Hop is and means TO ME:
Queer is to stand out in an awkward or unusual way or "Unusually different", often meant in a bad way like "weird". It was/is a term that a lot of people use(d) to isolate and target people in the LGBT community as abnormal. Many like myself have taken the work back and embraced being different or "unusual" rather than try to fit into socialized norms. It is to say that we are NOT all the same and that's OK. In fact, it's more than OK. It's beautiful. Diversity is beautiful. Being isolated as a gay black and bipolar man I've come to embrace the term queer rather than fear it. Queer-Hop is a subculture and movement within the Hip-Hop movement.
