Jersey native Jay Phive did not always want to become an artist. Jay, real name Jonathan Salomon, started writing poetry and playing sports since he was 7 years old. After giving up writing for basketball, Jay dreamed of making it to the NBA but he always had a hidden addiction for writing and reciting rap lyrics. Once Jay realized basketball wasn't his life path, he turned his attention to his first love which was hip-hop. It's been 5 years since Jay has began writing rhymes again and has studied lyrics from Jay-Z, Nas to Tupac and Kendrick Lamar. His debut mixtape "Ego Trip" uses unique flows and techniques mixed with an array of sounds that will please mainstream and underground listeners.
Ego Trip is the beginning of what is believed to be a long memorial career.
