Despoint started with lead guitarist/vocalist Christopher Reynolds, and percussionist Adam Siwwi back in early 2009. What began as weekly jam sessions out of a vacant room in the BSM building, sheds, and where ever else we could set up and play became the start of a thriving musical relationship. The decision to start the band came with Chris's eagerness to write more music, and Adam's profound dedication to make something happen with their talent. About a year into the band's establishment, progress was slow, but still moving. Finding additional musicians with sufficient skills and devotion to a small band proved a strenuous task, going through a couple instrumentalists before achieving the awesome combination Despoint has today. The band was first named 101 before changing their name to Despoint in 2010. Clay Richardson, their keyboardist and electronic instrument engineer, joined the band in the spring of 2010. Despoint's first album: 101, which is in the process of being recorded, will comprise the band's work over the last two years.
